Michelle B. - Storey Group Homes

I work with kids in care and I had the pleasure of booking Brian Glasgow to come and do a motivational talk to our clients aged 11 to 17.

As Brian began to tell his life story about the challenges he faced as a child, as a teenager and adult, you could have heard a pin drop as the kids were so in tuned to what he was saying. To have heard his story and to see what he has done with his life - to have turned it so completely around - is an achievement beyond words.

Brian is not only an inspiration to teens, but to anyone dealing with hard issues. I would recommend Brian to anyone interested in a true, moving and inspiring guest speaker! He tells it like it is and gives hope where you think there is none.

Brian, you are our hero!

Amber Dawn Stark - Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board

Brian instantly got our students' attention. He came with a voice of knowledge that our students could relate to.

The room was silent when he was speaking. Brian spoke of his own personal past and about consuming drugs. I was impressed with how Brian talked about the extensive overlap among substance abuse and learning disabilities. Our students could relate this to their own school challenges and start the process of setting more educational goals without shame, though it may be difficult. Brian spoke from a place of understanding about how difficult the recovery process can be. He spoke of the loss of dreams and goals and the sadness that addiction caused him and his family.

After Brian was done his talk, our students were genuinely moved. The youth and adults who attend our campus became more open and honest about their addictions and the loss and frustrations they had endured. More importantly Brian helped our students realize that their dreams may slip away if they do not start the process to becoming clean and being successful.

Thanks Brian,
Amber Stark
